GORDON CLARK FOR U. S. CONGRESS – MARYLAND’S 8TH DISTRICT

Gordon Clark is a citizen-politician — a lifelong activist, advocate, and community organizer for peace, social justice, and the environment who is now running for Congress to make a difference in government.

Gordon received a B.A. in psychology from Brown University in 1982. His activism and community organizing experience since that time includes:

  • Founder, Doylestown (Pennsylvania) Peace Force, a community organization combating the nuclear war fighting policies of the Reagan Administration, 1984
  • National Executive Director of Peace Action, the nation’s largest grassroots peace and disarmament organization, 1996 – 2001
  • Founder, Iraq Pledge of Resistance (now the National Campaign for Nonviolent Resistance), a national non-profit network devoted to using the nonviolent methods of Gandhi and King to oppose the war in Iraq, 2002
  • Field Director, Public Citizen’s Congress Watch, 2003-2006
  • Coordinator, Chesapeake Climate Action Network, 2007
  • Following his most recent arrest for nonviolent protest, Gordon defended himself pro se in U.S. District Court and was acquitted on all charges.

Gordon is running as the Green Party candidate. The Green Party’s principles are fundamentally aligned with what most Americans want and believe we need to get our country back on the right track.
